Did you make it to The Goat Farm for our Halloween party? No? Well, let’s just say that this video from @NoahOCulver (fellow Circus grad, holler!) pretty much sums up the night better than words, or pictures, or stories, or any recount other than actually being there could.

Pretty proud of my pal for pulling this off for us. Cannot wait ‘til next year.

Insider interviews with me, you, and the Robot Made of Sex this weekend at Dragon*Con.

HAY! Thx @koobabags! Any list that includes planking and @JustinBeiber on Twitter is a list @Scoutmob’s happy to be on!
koobahandbags:

1. Scoutmob is a super convenient (and free!) way for us to get out and about to explore the city… all with the incentive of free mobile deals. The constant savings is our excuse to avoid cooking!
2. Rachel Zoe fall line for Neiman Marcus— we want everything, now. Our favorite stylist, Rachel Zoe, has designed a line that pairs perfectly with our Fall Collection…now if only it was September.
3. The fad of “planking” seems to be taking the Twitter world by storm. Celebs and tweeters alike are constantly uploading pictures competing with each other in the oddest places and positions.
4.  The Sartorial-twist is ”a random fashion generator.” Every-time you click, Scott Schuman’s pictures from the actual Sartorialist, shuffle together making entertaining creations. WARNING: This is extremely addicting and takes a lot of self-control to stop clicking.
5. Perfect for the beach or to go out, the waterfall braid is a must this summer. Adorable and easy, your friends will be asking you to braid theirs. :)

Why I love my job.

For awesome fans like this guy. Seriously, y’all:

Hey Scoutmob,

just wanted to say thanks for keeping my updated with cool and cheap local events in atlanta! honestly, i just joined the site for the coupons but last saturday i had nothing to do so i decided to check out one of the events on your site… the back pockets cd release show… so i said to my roommate “hey you want to go to this random concert for this band that i know nothing about?” and he said “sounds totally lame dude, i’m going to stay in and study my maths.” so i went to my other roommate and said, “hey you want to check out this random cd release party that i saw on scoutmob? it looks wierd and cool…” and he goes “sounds super gay bro, i’m going to play x-box with my pants off while eating doritoes and listening to jack johnson.” so i said frack it and i went by myself and i had a blast! seriously one of the most entertaining shows i’ve seen and the venue was awesome. AND i saw an acquaintance there and he said “how did you hear about this show?” and i was like “i just saw it on scoutmob and figured i should go!” and then he started to give me a look like “o so you dont have any friends…” so i quickly changed my answer to “actually i heard about it… via word of mouth… from all those friends that i have… a big group of friends actually who i hang out with and do friend stuff with on a regular basis… but none of them could come tonight because… um… their dog died… ya, all of their dogs died actually… its a tragety, they were all on a plane together… to, um… san francisco… for a conference. a… dog… conference… ya know what its actually really sad actually i dont want to talk about it its really sad.”

anyway, thanks for telling me about cool stuff and sorry about your dog.

Jordan, if you’re out there, hit me up. I’m totally buying you a round of (friendly!) beers.

Love, Scoutmob.

Well, HEYYYYY, Good Lookin’!
I couldn’t be more stoked to see our “Queen Scout” San Francisco editor, Bre Lambert, profiled as a “Found Local” on one of my favoritest local sites, The Bold Italic.
To be honest here, back when Scoutmob was just a wee glisten in a few of our eyeballs, and I was trying to collect inspiration for what we wanted to look like, sound like, smell like…  I spent so many hours gleaning inspiration from their site. And I ain’t even in SF. But everything they do is just so on point, so well-designed, so… cool. It’s such sweet, sweet validation to know that, since then, the love has been mutual.
Thanks for rockin’ SF for us, Bre! And thanks for the love, Bold Italic folk!

Michael and I sat down with our friends Bart and Eric of Esperanza last week for a little chat on their podcast. It was fun. And informative. And they took awkward pictures like this one. I bet you want to listen, right?

Come Drink With Me: Sunday Funday @ DBA BBQ

I guess word got out that I know how to make a mean Bud Light: the folks at D.B.A. BBQ (a literal stone’s throw from my crib) have requested my expert bartending experience for a long afternoon of drank-slangin’, brunch and BBQ-eatin’ — so join me this Sunday (1/23) from noon to 5 p.m.

I’d say I’d buy you a beer, but perhaps I’ll just open one for you instead.

More details: click-thru to Facebook Event Page.

Google launching direct Groupon competitor: GoogleOffers.

And no one is shocked. (Via Mashable)

Today is Scoutmob’s first birthday. And as my nerdy way of celebrating,  I decided to get all nostalgic and go through my external drive where I’ve amassed thousands upon thousands of pics from all the restaurants I’ve written up, the launch trips I went on, all the events we were a part of. It’s been a lot of good stuff… so I made a quick and dirty Highlight Reel on Facebook.
Click through if you wanna see lots of pictures of food. And me. And me eating food.
Here’s to another exciting year. And to some sort of diet that successfully counteracts last year’s gorge-fest.
